ABOUT US
As the inventor of the Turntablist Transcription Methodology (TTM), Raymond "Dj Raedawn" Pirtle Jr.'s mission is to increase literacy and innovation in the field of all Hip-Hop sciences thru education, historical documentation and technological innovation. His system, invented in 1999, uses Physics and Mathematics to notate the movements of Dj's and Electronic music performers. It's the only form of music notation that can capture the full gamut of modern music, from the most simple to the most complex sounds. Over the past 24 years, TTM has become the only internationally practiced notational language for DJ and Electronic music. Dj's all over the world are becoming mathematically literate with the notation using it to document and communicate with each other. TTM notation is now being taught in primary schools in the United Kingdom's Leicestershire region since 2015, has appeared in numerous university dissertations and is used in dj schools around the world. His work has also appeared on popular television shows like CSI, movies like Scratch (2001) and various periodicals such as Time Magazine & Blackbook Magazine.

Dj Raedawn is an a multi-award winning artist who's work is based on the post-modern intersection between Audio-Visual Art, Science and Mathematics in the tradition of composer-philosopher Anthony Braxton, composer-artist Karlheinz Stockhausen and historian-inventor Athanasius Kircher.
